How To Register The Sierra Wireless GX450 Airlink Gateway

In case you are a Sierra Wireless GX450 AirLink gateway user, in order for you to start using AirVantage, the first thing that you need to do is register your devices in the system. Before you start managing your AirLink gateway/s with AirVantage, follow the device registration procedure. If you are looking to register just a few devices, it can easily be done via the web interface; however, if you need to register a large number of devices, it is advised that you bulk import their details in a CSV file. Once done, follow the following steps-
  • Go to the Register page. Click the Register tab from the top menu bar or Register widget on the Start page. Enter the serial number and let AirVantage identify the device type. The serial number and IMEI are printed on the back of your Sierra Wireless GX450 gateway.
  • Name your device in the Name field, and enter the ACEmanager password. Sierra AirLink gateways running MSCI support the device-initiated communication model; and don’t assign a public static IP address. Once the operation has completed, AirVantage will notify you and you will see your gateway at the top of the Device Catalog.
  • Now it’s time for you to connect your AirLink gateway. Most new gateways are already pre-configured to automatically connect to AirVantage, however, if your gateway runs the ALEOS firmware version 4.3.1 or earlier (the chances are very less), you would be required to change the settings in ACEmanager.
After the device’s first communication, click the Refresh button in order to verify the synchronization status. If the status icon shows green, it means your system has been successfully synchronized.
